Karamu Trail Track Events


Throughout summer we hold a number of one day events. All events are designed to suit families and all ages.

Adventure riding weekend

A two day event for people with their own horse. Horses need to be fit for hill country riding, shoes not required.

  • $100 per person for full weekend with own horse, includes camp site
  • Single day visitors $50 per day with own horse
  • Horses for hire (book and pay early - limited numbers available)
    • $50 for Saturday tag a long ride (plus day or weekend entry fee)
    • $30 for Saturday gloworm ride
  • Bring your tent, float or horse truck and camp out in the paddock (Friday/Saturday nights).
  • Flush toilets and handbasin facilities.
  • Camping arrivals from 4.00pm Friday onwards.
  • Shared turnout paddock, water troughs and water taps.
  • No age restriction - parents discretion.
  • Restuarants and supermarkets within 20 minutes drive

Saturday: Hill country riding.

  • 5-7 hour guided tag along ride
  • Lunch provided
  • 1.5 hour nighttime gloworm ride

Sunday: Orienteering challenge across 550 acres.

  • Up to 6 hours horsback orienteering (own horse event only)

 

Mountain bike challenge weekend

A family oriented weekend of mountain biking, camping and other activities

  • $80 single person
  • $150 family of two
  • $200 family of three
  • $250 family of four
  • $300 family of five
  • Single day entry $50 per person

 

  • Bring your tent and camp out in the paddock (Friday/Saturday nights).
  • Camping arrivals from 4.00pm Friday onwards.
  • Activities and friendly competitions for all ages and abilities.
  • Tracks suitable for all abilities.
  • Take shortcuts back if you get tired.
  • Other activities for family members who don't ride a bike such as canoeing, walks, swimming and tramping.
  • Suitable for children, parents, grandparents as well as the incredibly fit enthusasts.

NO BIKES ARE AVAIALABE FOR HIRE - BRING YOUR OWN!

 

Saturday: All ages mountain bike competitions

Sunday: Up to  6 hours Mountain bike orienteering.

 

 

Trail bikes

Trail bike ride dates will also be advertised on Silver Bullet. No bookings required. Tracks for advanced, intermediate and learners. Suitable for both quads and trail bikes. 

Lady riders - yes we have catered for you properly with your own toilets and large changing room.

Learners track - a short track (10-15 minute circuit) with a mixture of easy terrain and gentle cambers suitable for children, complete beginners and novices. No hooning on the learners track permitted.

4WD self drive tag alongs

The terrain is a mixture of farmland, clay tracks, scrub and bush trails. Tours are guided and suitable for unmodified road 4WD vehicles. No special driving ability is expected but as on the road you are responsible for your own vehicle and sensible driving.

  • $50 per vehicle
  • 10.00am - 3.00pm
  • No charge for passengers
  • Bring along your lunch and drinks in your vehicle
  • Suitable only for 4WD vehicles (not cars)
  • Guided
  • Assistance provided if you get stuck
  • Bookings essential. Limited to 25 vehicles per tour.

Bookings open 4 weeks prior to each event, to be advised of upcoming events email 4WD@ktt.co.nz with your contact details. 

Driving is at your own risk and signing a disclaimer is required.
